I had symptoms for about 20 years before I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Unfortunately, my diagnosis came after surgery in my small intestine. I had been "underdiagnosed" for years with other illnesses, but finally, found out my culprit. It has been another 14 years since my official diagnosis with Crohn's Disease and I am beginning to think that there may be a Celiac link to my problems as well. (My symptoms have been very light in recent years since my surgery and even more so as I approached 50. I am considering following a gluten-free diet as well.
